Happy Anniversary Graeme Cameron Photography

Happy Anniversary to us! Graeme Cameron Photography is celebrating 18 years old this week. We’ve working some great people along the way and had some wonderful opportunities. We’ve been down Florence Mine, up the “Ratty” and round the race track. 2020 is looking really good. We’ve got a busy year ahead of us and some great jobs lined up.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

In Primary School writing about “What I did at the weekend” the reoccurring words were “Lake District”, “Mountain” and “Photographs”.

Some of my earliest memories involved being on the mountains in the Lake District. Occasional photographs captured the special moment and beautiful lakeland scenery.

This interest in photography grew & grew. In my teenage years I would borrow my Dad’s camera whenever I got the chance. On my 18th Birthday when I got my own brand new 35mm film camera and camera bag. Some people have fond memories of their first car; I have fond memories of my Pentax ProgramA and TUF Traveller camera bag.

Now there was no stopping me. Every day out, road trip or holiday was photographed for posterity. The motivation was to capture and preserve unique moments in time.

Over time I developed my own style of photography. I used both the camera’s internal light meter and an external light meter as appropriate. Experimenting with filters, double exposures, external flash guns and tripods.

BECOMING A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, A NATURAL PROGRESSION

Over the years I was regularly invited to be the official photographer at weddings.

In 2002 Linda & I launched our WeddingPortrait & Commercial Photography business.

In the early days most of our effort was concentrated on photographing the glorious Lake District & local tourist attractions. The images used on greetings cards and in calendars. Over a short period of time the geographical area of tourist attractions wanting our services grew considerably. Clients included the prestigious Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle and Guernsey Tourist Board.

Our eye for detail and passion for providing a professional service led to us covering more & more weddings.

Many people have pre-conceived ideas about wedding photographers, we brought something new to the party!

OUR STYLE OF WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IS RELAXED, MIXING BOTH FORMAL AND INFORMAL PICTURES

Our aim is to fit in and go with the natural flow of your wedding day. We like to assist with the day’s proceedings as necessary and help the whole day run smoothly & seamlessly.

LOVES THE CHALLENGE OF COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

In between weddings, we enjoy the challenge of Commercial Photography. Understanding the customer brief and capturing unique images for both large & small clients is very rewarding. The range of customers has been huge over the years.

Customers include: LLWR, INS, NNL, Thomasons Consultancy, Robertson North East, Fisheries Commission, Hartley’s Ice Cream, RNLI, Bowes Museum, Borrowdale TIC, Milburns Solicitors, Keswick Museum, Haig Mining Museum, Gibbons Chartered Accountants, High Grange, Beacon Museum Whitehaven, Senhouse Roman Museum Maryport, Best Western Hotels, SEAT, Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, Honister Slate Mine, Cumberland Pencil Museum and the Keswick Museum.

THOROUGHLY ENJOYS RUNNING & PRESENTING DIGITAL SLR PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES IN CUMBRIA

For several years we have successfully been running & presenting Digital SLR Photography Courses based in West Cumbria. Whether you have photographic interest specifically in beautiful landscapes, seascapes, stunning portraits, incredible wildlife, gritty urban life, close up and personal macro or a mixture of many styles we want to help you develop, polish and improve your Digital SLR Photographic skills.

The Digital SLR Photography Courses are great fun. We keep the classes intentionally small so that everyone can have plenty of 1 to 1 tuition. The feedback has been humbling at times as everyone thoroughly enjoys the course regardless of their ability & previous experience.
