WeddingPhotographer Gilsland Spa
Nick & Nikki chose Lanercost Priory and Gilsland Spa Hotel as the locations for their beautiful wedding day in the North West and what great settings they were ! Getting ready in Carlisle at Grandma’s and traveling by Luxury Rolls Royce was a lovely touch.
Lanercost Priory
Lanercost Priory was founded by Robert de Vaux between 1165 and 1174 to house Augustinian Canons. It is situated at the village of Lanercost, near Brampton and east of Carlisle. It’s a beautiful & tranquil setting. You would never guess it had experienced such a turbulent history with frequent attacks during long Anglo-Scottish wars. Robert the Bruce even stayed at the Priory at one time as an uninvited guest! The Priory’s Tower is a four storey medieval stone fortified tower with a two storey range to the west. The Vicarage Tower is known as King Edward’s Tower. King Edward the 1st lodged there on his three visits to Lanercost.
Gilsland Spa Hotel
The Gilsland Spa Hotel sits in 140 acres of manicured garden and natural woodland with spectacular views over the Cumbrian & Northumberland countryside. It’s a big hotel offering 94 en suite rooms. The latest addition is the wonderful Orangery built in 2010. It’s modern, light interior is great for wedding photographs offering superb soft lighting conditions.
Wedding Photographers
It was our pleasure to be Nick & Nikki’s official wedding photographers on their big day. The wedding ceremony was great fun and looking at the pictures it’s easy to see that the happy couple thoroughly enjoyed their wedding day, we enjoyed it too.
