Wedding at St.Mary’s Church, Cleator

St.Mary’s Catholic Church at Cleator was the setting for Matt & Katie’s wedding day. Matt & Katie had a great day and a walk up to the Grotto for wedding photographs in the sunshine was a lovely touch.

History

The W.W.Putin designed church was consecrated in 1872 replacing an earlier mission church built in 1853. The church grounds are home to a meditative walk on the Stations of the Cross and Our Lady’s Grotto. It’s a replica of the Grotto at Lourdes in France.
