PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION JUDGE

Photography competition judge. It was lovely to be invited back to the Ennerdale & Kinniside Show to judge the various photography competitions. A large amount of entries across all of the categories. Another great year with a good standard of images across the board. We really do have some talented photographers in our local communities.

WHAT IS THE ENNERDALE & KINNISIDE SHOW

2024 was the 116th annual show, but what is it? Well, it’s official full title is “Ennerdale & Kinniside Horticultural & Agricultural Society xxxth Annual Show”. The show is referred to locally as the “Ennerdale Show”. Activities take place all day based around the traditional sports and pastimes of the area. These include the showing of sheep, horses and dogs of all shapes and sizes. Vintage machinery displays. Hound trailing (racing), fell racing and even Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling! The industrial and produce marquee are bursting with locally made or grown items for display or as competition entries. I was invited to be the official photography competition judge. There were lots of different catagories and the subject matter changes from year to year. One of my personal favourites are the images with a caption attached.
