Passion for photographing the lake district
As much as I enjoy being a professional wedding photographer based in the Lake District I still have a passion for photographing the Lake District Fells and Cumbrian landscapes.
Lake District is great for photography
The Lake District is great for photography with photo opportunities around every corner. Ranging from big vistas capturing many mountains & lakes to close up and personal pictures of mountain streams in hidden hillside valleys.
Earliest memories
Some of my earliest memories involve being on the mountains in the Lake District. The ever changing light on the beautiful scenery ensure that no two Lakeland photographs will ever be the same.
Wastwater & Ennerdale
A few favourites on the doorstep include Wastwater & Ennerdale.
Wastwater
Wastwater with it’s high screes, tallest mountains and deepest lake is famous for it’s fantastic light, sometimes dark & atmospheric and sometimes bright & simply magnificent. Other people obviously love Wastwater as well, it was officially voted “Britian’s Favourite View”.
Ennerdale
Ennerdale is a quiet secluded valley surrounded by some of the highest fells in Cumbria. A million miles away from the crowds of Windermere & Ambleside. It’s a wilderness area with Bowness Knott on one side of the valley and Pillar dominating the other.
Big skyies
They talk about Big Skies in America, well despite the great scenery in the Lake District & Cumbria it’s still good to stop and look up occasionally.
