Commercial Photographers in the Lake District

Last week saw us doing a bit of commercial photography in our own backyard. The request was for photographs of a babbling brook or mountain stream. So with a spell of perfect weather promised in the lake district it was off to Ennerdale.

The mountain stream we had our eye on was Rake Beck near Bowness Knott. It’s a quiet corner of the lake district so the parking is easy. We had a short walk with our tripod and fully loaded camera bag up the side of the fell following the beck. There were couple of excellent locations so we set up and did a few test shots. Once we were happy with the composition we broke out the Lee Big Stopper filter to pull the exposure speeds down. With perfect conditions and excellent scenery the pictures turned out great.

Doing a bit of commercial photography in the Autumn sunshine was a great way to spend an afternoon. The only thing I might have done differently, take some wellington boots, the water was freezing !
